I have been a professional photographer for just about all my adult life. My background is in photojournalism and documentary photography:

That’s where my passions lie and that’s where my biggest influences are. My career as a photojournalist includes 11 years at the San Diego Union-Tribune, documenting breaking news events, sports, feature stories and long-term projects of people in ordinary and extraordinary situations. I'm still an observer with a camera, trying to capture scenes that will inform, enlighten, entertain or perhaps give people pause to wonder about the story behind the image.
